In March 2026, members of the DPS Group team joined Siemens Digital Industries Software and industry peers at the Insights Hub Realize Club in Coventry, a focused event bringing together manufacturers and technology specialists to explore the role of connected data in accelerating industrial transformation.
The event brought together manufacturers, technology specialists, and Insights Hub partners to explore how real-time visibility, asset performance monitoring, and data-driven insight are reshaping what operational excellence looks like in practice.
For DPS Group, it was an opportunity to both contribute to those conversations and demonstrate what we are already delivering for customers across manufacturing and the distilling industry.
The Insights Hub Realize Club
The Realize Club is the Siemens forum for Insights Hub partners and customers to connect, share experiences, and explore what the platform is making possible across industry. Sessions cover the Insights Hub roadmap, real-world customer stories, and partner showcases, with space for peer conversation built throughout the day.
The agenda centred on a theme that runs through everything DPS Group does: that connected data and measurable insight are fundamental to operational excellence, not a nice-to-have, but a prerequisite for any manufacturer serious about performance, sustainability, and long-term competitiveness.

Making the Invisible Measurable: The DPS Group Presentation
A standout session from the first day came from Donald Ross, Managing Director of Cockayne Systems, and Leonid Kuritsin from DPS Group, who presented jointly on behalf of DPS Group.
Donald opened with a concept familiar to anyone in the Scotch whisky industry: the Angel’s Share. In whisky production, the Angel’s Share refers to the volume lost to evaporation during cask maturation, an accepted and unavoidable part of the process, but one that, left unmonitored, represents a loss that simply disappears into the air.
The point Donald made was sharper than a whisky anecdote. In manufacturing more broadly, organisations tolerate losses they cannot see. Without the right data, inefficiencies become background noise, factored into plans, accepted as inevitable, and never challenged. The question is not whether losses exist, but whether you are measuring them.
Leonid then demonstrated how Siemens Insights Hub and Industrial Edge solutions address exactly this problem. By connecting assets across a production environment and delivering real-time visibility at the edge and in the cloud, the platform enables organisations to see what was previously hidden, monitor asset performance continuously, and act on insights rather than estimates.
The session drew a clear line from data to decision, and from decision to measurable outcome. That is the journey DPS Group is helping customers take.

Conversations That Reinforce What We Are Seeing in the Market
Murray Blyth, Client Relationship Director at DPS Group, also attended the event, and the day confirmed what the team hears consistently from manufacturers across the UK: the ambition to improve production performance, increase uptime, and work toward sustainability targets is there. The gap is often the data infrastructure to make it happen.
Siemens Industrial Edge and Insights Hub, deployed by a partner who understands both the technology and the operational environment, close that gap. DPS Group works with customers across food and beverage, manufacturing, and the distilling sector to design and implement solutions that connect assets, surface meaningful data, and deliver the visibility needed to act with confidence.
The conversations throughout the day reinforced something we believe in at DPS Group: that digitalisation, done properly, is not about technology for its own sake. It is about giving the people who run operations the information they need to make better decisions, faster.
Digitalisation in the Scotch Whisky Industry
Donald’s presentation also highlighted the work Cockayne Systems and DPS Group are doing in partnership with customers in the Scotch whisky industry, helping distilleries take their first steps on a digital journey that connects filling, cask management, and asset monitoring with live data.
For distilleries, the opportunity is significant. Production environments that have operated on instinct and paper-based records for generations are now able to access real-time visibility into processes that directly affect quality and yield. The technology is mature. The barrier is most often knowing where to start and having a partner who can guide the transition without disrupting operations.
That is exactly what DPS Group and Cockayne Systems offer.
What Siemens Insights Hub Delivers for Manufacturers
Siemens Insights Hub is an industrial IoT platform that connects manufacturing assets to enable continuous data collection, real-time monitoring, and analytics-driven decision-making. For DPS Group customers, it typically supports:
- Energy management: real-time visibility of consumption across sites and assets, supporting reduction targets and sustainability reporting
- Condition monitoring: continuous asset health data that supports a shift from reactive maintenance to predictive intervention
- OEE improvement: production performance data that identifies the losses quietly eroding output and gives teams the information to address them
- Scalable digital insight: a connected data architecture that grows with the business, from instrument to cloud, without requiring wholesale infrastructure change from day one
DPS Group designs and implements these solutions end to end, combining Siemens Insights Hub and Industrial Edge with our broader EI&C and automation engineering capability. Every deployment is built around what the customer is actually trying to achieve, not around technology for its own sake.
