Support & Commissioning Engineer

What Are We Looking For?


DPS are delighted to welcome applications to join our Support & Commissioning team as we look to grow our numbers owing to continued success. As part of the Support and Commissioning department, working as part of the DPS Group to ensure our customers’ needs are met fully with high standards of customer care and efficiency. Providing Control Systems Support to DPS Group Client base and providing Commissioning assistance to the DPS Control Systems Engineers and Project Managers, you will be expected to ensure all demands are met fully within the timescales expected. Providing Support to Clients when they have breakdowns and modification with expedited turnaround time.


Some of Your Key Duties Include:


  • To support the project team by developing commissioning plans, site commissioning files, methodologies, programmes, method statements and risk assessments.
  • Provide a flexible approach to resourcing all commissioning requirements of various projects.
  • Monitor standards to ensure specification compliance and quality standards are strictly maintained.
  • Attend FAT activities and provide constructive input with regards to system controls.
  • Carry out commissioning of LV Electrical systems, Instrumentation and Control Systems including MCC’s and associated field equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, line diagrams and P&ID’s.
  • Complete SAT and Asset Start-up.
  • Complete commissioning documentation.


What Do You Need?


  • Degree level education BSc or BEng in Engineering or alternate qualification equivalent in Electrical, Control Systems Engineering or HNC/HND with relevant experience
  • Experienced in Siemens and/or Rockwell Automation and/or Schneider Electric latest Automation and Process Control Systems
  • Experience with all aspects of automation and process control systems including drives, servo and AC drive/motors would be highly advantageous.
  • Adaptable and flexible approach.
  • Someone who has carried out the completion of full turnkey projects from design through to programming and commissioning.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be experienced with client-facing.
