Training part of the culture at DPS Group

Upskilling our staff is a key part of the culture at DPS Group – and this month we continue to create opportunities for enhanced learning.

DPS Group want colleagues to be able to grow with the business, and we know when they are happy and challenged they’re best placed to offer fantastic service in their roles.

A number of DPS Group technicians and engineers recently completed a SILComp® certified functional safety and SIL training course for instrument and field technicians, run by our Functional Safety Partner Risknowlogy.

The course focuses on functional safety aspects for the operation, maintenance, repair and testing of safety instrumented systems in the process, oil & gas, power and chemical industries according to IEC 61511.

Elsewhere a number of our engineers have participated in a course on Amtech Prodesign in the last month, enabling them to achieve a practical level of competence which in turn enables them to use the software with confidence in the workplace and be productive in the shortest time.

Finally, other colleagues have taken the first part of a course on using EPLAN Electric P8, which is our main package used for all electrical engineering design, project planning, documenting and managing automation projects.

DPS Group director Martin Brownlee (pictured, above) explains how important it is to provide staff with training opportunities.

“We’ve got a really good rate of retaining staff at DPS Group,” he said.

“To achieve that we create an environment where everyone can grow, and part of that in our profession is providing staff with the right training opportunities so they can upskill with us, not only for the benefit of DPS Group, but for their own careers.”
