This month, it is the turn of DPS Group’s instrumentation manager Paul Guppy to take some quick-fire questions in our latest DPS Group Q&A.
What’s best about working at DPS Group?
It’s a really interesting place to work, and you are always learning. Over the years I have worked in a variety of different industries throughout the UK.
One day I will be in the biggest pharmaceutical plant in Scotland and the next the biggest oil refinery. I wouldn’t change it for the world, I sometimes think I have the best job in the world!
Tell us about your biggest challenge since joining DPS Group.
The biggest challenge is something I have recently started to work on. DPS Group have always supported training and further education throughout my 12 years employment. My newest challenge is completing my degree in Business Management.
What has made you most proud?
I first started with the business in 2005 which at that time we were a small business working out a converted car garage in Cardenden.
I am proud to be part of the DPS Group and watch how it has grown over the past few years. DPS Group has given me opportunities over the years and I have made a very good career, now with the role of instrumentation manager.
How do you like to spend your time outside work?
I have a son Charlie who is eight years old. If you have kids you will know I don’t have much spare time!
I do enjoy supporting him at football most weekends, and on occasion we get a free weekend where we get the rods out on the pond for some fishing.
My good lady is from Tipperary in Ireland and we like to head over to see the family as much as possible, too.
What would you say to future clients who are thinking of working with DPS Group?
I have a client who once said, ‘The proof is in the pudding,’ which was four years ago.
They are now one of our leading customers.
The business has grown by word of mouth and a very good reputation over the years and it doesn’t matter the problem, we will deliver a solution!
